And it starts!!!!

my motor recently blew in my 87 runner so i found a 86 motor and i wanted to know if the harness' match up? or if it will give me any smog issues?

Where are you located? I know that in California, when swapping an engine, it is supposed to be from the same year vehicle or newer to be legal as far as smog.

86 and 87 are the same!  :thumbs:
~84 to 85 are very similar but just a few small things are different.
~86 to 87 are the same (the 22re's are the same and 22rte's are the same)
~88 is on it's own
~89 on up is on all the same (22re)

I would swap it out!
They are basically identical!

THE MOTOR IS IN BUT I STILL NEED TO CONNECT THE WIREING AND VAC HOSES, THEN TIGHTEN THE BELL HOUSING BOLTS FILL THE FLUIDS AND SHE WILL BE READY TO GO...  :cheese: I SHOULD FINISH TODAY I WILL POST THE CARNAGE SHOTS OF THE OLD MOTOR LATER TODAY SO STAY POSTED.... :wave:

not much maybe 1-2 more mpg...  I got the wireing all done and everything back in... tomorrow i will put in the fluids and see if she will crank... :crossed:

yea i tried duck tape and bailing wire to fix her but it did not work to well.. :smack:

yea thanks alot i got her to start today... but i got a little oil leak... :headscratch: it,s too dark to see it rite now so i will take a closer look tomorrow....
