My only concern with the tubing that supports your taillights is they might be an anchor if they come into contact with a rock or tree. :dunno: How about flush mounting the lights under the tailgate. :twocents:

I was thinking that too, and they would allow full view of the fenders.

good point ,i was thinkin the lower bar and the contour of the fender will allow to slid past.i thought about the bumper but thats pretty low backin into things i dont know.i bought l.e.d's oblong for brake and runnig.round 2inch l.e.d.'s for the turn.

if your worried about hittin stuf u could always flush them in the tailgate and get the little light box to protect the back of the light

Doof

if you mount them flush on the bumper a little one inch bar of round stock bent and welded would be good protection on top and bottom of the lights... or just above and below is what im getting at

I had those lights on my Sami. :yesnod: If you back into something, they are easy and cheap to replace. ;)

Will this latch allow you to "slam" the tailgate shut?

I have one of those and it doesnt allow you to slam it and have it locked, I think thats the same one.  They keep things nice and tight though!
