I have an 85 Runner with a Marlin built 4.7 T-Case.  It has a passenger side drop T-Case.  I am wanting to run Unimog axles thus I need a drivers side drop T-Case.  I have heard that I can mate a Tacoma case to my 85 Runner 5 speed case.

Is this true and if so, what do I need to get 'er done?

Will a Marlin 4.7 case and a Tacoma case or what ever it is hold up to Unimog axles and maybe 40's or 42" tires?

I really want to do this project even though it will take a bit of time as funds are  :puke:

Front and Rear steer, full width, 40's or bigger, Butt loads of ground clearance under the axles!!!!

85 Runner, 5" All-Pro Extreme Lift, Complete Marlin T-Case with new TS 4.7 gears, Super Birfields(Longfields), 5:29's, Detroited front, Spooled rear, 36" TSL's, Bikini top.

Yes, Livin in Kansas sucks azz!!

From what I can tell, you can get an adapter to put the tacoma transfer case behind your 4.7:1 range box. Also there are adapters out there (dont know who makes them) to put a d300 or atlasII behind the range box.

there's an adapter for the tacoma case, i'd just be a little leary running 4.7s in the front instead of the rear myself(since it's chain drive, not a lot you can do).  supposedly it's pretty strong though, and it's driver drop like you need
