um the tranny was giving me fits so thats done. I got a cherry picker to pull the motor out and re do the motor mounts. Got to put a small body lift on it 1~2 inch. Huge score today. Ifs rear housing with new never use brakes for $40.

Sould i run these ubolt elimination plate that came with the axle or cut them off and use my ubolt flip kit?

DTB

I would run em as long as the welds are solid and u dont need to move your pinion angle

Borrowed a plasma cuter and went to town on the axle.

Why would some one go through the trouble of doing such a hack job?

I would venture to say that the "Disgrace" and "Fontucky Fab" threads are enough evidence to answer your question about why someone would go through the trouble of "doing such a hack job"

They did such a hack job that the welds were covered in black silicon. I think I have a nasty head ache from breathing that stuff.

skipnrocks

silicone huh?  is that poorboy bondo?

I'm mad I tore out my rear axle to put in a wider IFS read end.
My 4.10 gears are shot! The 4 bolts that hold the bearings in backed out.
Odd part is the gears that came with the ifs housing are 4.37s.

I will throw the aussie locker in the new 4.10 third. The bolt holes are wallowed out and I think its been like that for a while. The pinion is knife sharp the last 1/2inch tapered from a 1/16th up by the bearings.
