im in no rush to building my runner. i figure i do it step by step so that way i dont miss anything on my build. do some research spend some cash save money do more research spend more cash. thats the only way i think i can build my runner up. i cant just save a bunch of cash to just throw down on everything i need at once. so itll be a while till my runners ready to go

is this a good deal for a gear and locker package? whats the full master rebuild kit (is it recommended when changing gears) and why is it called a full SOFT locker.

$755   for a parts kit  you  dont know how to install,  when you can get a  complete 3rd  alreadysetup  with a  1 year garrantee  from Marlin  with a detroit  and  529's  for $995

you'll   most likely pay $200 plus  to have the parts installed  , so why not get it from Marlin and have a warranty

i m starting to work on my diffs and dont know where to start. do i unscrew all those bolts that connects the diffs to the axles first? do i need special tools to get to the gears inside? and is that big bolt in the middle of the flange supposed to be indented because it kind of confuses me on how they got that bolt on there

Take all the bolts out and diff chunk will pull out in one piece. Take that to the gear man along with all the new parts.

That is called a "Stake" The nut is screwed on to the pinion shaft, the pre-load is set with an inch pound torque wrench then a chisel is used to "stake" the nut so it will not come loose.

You are getting into a hobby that is considered a "money pit". From the time, I bought my truck over ten years ago and all of the different mods and repairs that it has gone through I have over forty five thousand dollars tied up in it. You are just getting started.

When I did mine I couldnt afford a front locker and longs (I'm still saving for them). You can always get started and add the longs and locker later
