After checking several links from "toyotaoffroad", decided to come in and have a look around. So far looks like there's a lot of good info here for me to soak up. I've been a yoda fan since the mid 80's. Bought my first one in 92 (2wd stand/short, 22re, 5sp, base trim) and drove the hell out of it. Blew a HG, rebuilt it with Haynes' help and now it has 259k, semi retired, but still runs. Last year, got my first 4wd, used, for a really good price. Had some problems of its own, but am very happy with it. When I got it, the odometer didn't work, but had 195k showing. It had an idle surge at closed throttle with the brake pressed and after driving it for about 6 months with a blown HG(was slightly blown when i got it),finally rebuilt the top end, finding loose head bolts. Also fixed the idle(unrelated, but found the cause wile reassembling). No damage, so put it all back together. It is my DD and also my work truck. It's a 93 standard/shortbed, 22re(god i love that little engine! Was that made by timex?), 5sp, 4.56 f/r(both open diffs  ), custom exhaust from header to rear( cat), electric fan conv., body lift, 33x12.50x15 BFG AT's, Make-do step rails, Homemade bumpers f/r (3" steel well casing. please don't hit me, it will hurt. you.), IFS twisted up about 1" to level it out. No real suspension mods. YET. Have some mods in the works , but as others have already said, waitin' on da munney.

It ain't worth doin' if you don't have to clean up afterwards!

Build it, break it, fix it, repeat until your wallet is empty.

Thanks. But hate to say, I had to deface it last night. I have been pulling a trailer with a pipe rack for my work, but it was putting a lot of stress on the end of my frame (receiver starting to bend frame end). So, last night I went ahead and put the rack on the truck (better weight distribution). Ooh! Wait. That's not a rack. That's the beginnings of my exo.
