Does anybody else notice a wave of new members after Marlin is featured on Xtreme4x4 or some show like that?

Duffil

jimbo74

i also notice with these new waves that members try and bypass the rules and post/threadjack someone elses 4sale thread because they cant make their own....

you're only down by 2500 or so.  you could make that up in a weekend.

Have you seen the posts in for sale where it appears the seller (or a mod) locked them?

Yup and the ones the moderators tell them to delete their posts because they don't have enough posts to try and sell stuff yet.  those are the good ones!  :ha_ha:[

I've actually been busy the last 3 days with LaDawna Tyler and I've finally got to check the site, HOLY CRAP!  Out of 9 pages of posts, 3 of them were just newbies saying HI!  Get ready for the stupid ideas and questions!!  Like how do I put a radiator in the bed of my Taco?  I'd say hi to them, but hell, it would take me forever to check my posts!

some of us noobs are transplanted from other sites. info was getting too slow. I for one, usually read these topics/posts because i want to learn more and to get a different viewpoint. Got the basics down, now trying to get into the details. But I read more than I post.

[threadjack] Hey if I turn my brake-light bulb upside-down will it shine brighter? I'm trying to sell my 88 pickup and the lights are kinda dim (like my brain) Oh if you want to buy it let me know I'm asking way too much for it. We now return you to your regularly schedulled thread. [/threadjack]

I'm feeling some aggression towards the noobs. I feel safe in saying I'm not a complete idiot and although I'm may be new to the site its not hard to answer my own questions by reading other posts. But you guys cant be mad for other people interested in 4x4 even if its a stupid question..

Everyone is welcome and should feel welcome, however, there are some simple rules to follow, these are set not to discourage but to make it easy to navigate the forum. Please take the time to review them and  :welcome: to  :turtle:.

I don't mind answering the same question 100 times for anyone, it's more the noob threadjacking going on because they can't post the only reason they came here in the 1st place which is to sell their junk. Then when they can't since there is a minimum amount of posts required before you have full privilege they just jack someones's thread to post that they have junk to sell.

Rocksurfer you are correct, it is definitely frustrating for you fellows who have been on this forum for as long as you have, but take it from someone who Glen and Diane has, on numerous occasions, had to redirect myself, this forum has given me an opportunity to learn more about my Toyota, how to 'wheel' and most of all meet great people.  :yesnod:

One of the main reasons I don't mind answering the same questions over and over, you have to start somewhere and if you really think about it even a teacher has to do it this way. Every year you have to start over to teach the noobs the same thing you taught last year, but at the end of it the student is now better than the teacher.
