I agree, you are definetly sweatier with humidity, no question. And I really enjoyed how well we cooled off just by stepping in the shade when we were at Calico with RS... but I did not enjoy looking in the mirror and seeing what my skin looked like with all the moisture being sucked out of it.
That was creepy.

Yes you creeped me out too.

.......and your hair didn't like it much either.  :afro2: :nana:

Reached 110 here today wasn't so bad without that humidity.

I always feel better knowing it's hotter in Phx than here.

Welp, last day of vacation and it was supposed to be 104, why not head to the alps?  It never seemed hot and was very comfortable in the shade, though I did come out with a fairly good sunburn on my nose and left arm :ack:  Alternator took it's final dump on the way home too, but not a big deal cause I took a spare optima with me just in case it did :haha:  Got a big side wind coming back on the highway, looked in the rearview mirror and saw a huge cloud of dust being blown off the truck.

Oh yea, I caught 29 fish in the alps and 3 at a neat little creek I discovered on the way home   Still not sure what kinda trout most of them were, 1 was a brook and 1 a nice sized brown, for an alps lake anyway.

I hate to say but my first week back at work was a pretty bad one, though it had nothing to do with the heat.  One of my guys decided he had a "big problem" with me after I tried to relay some info in passing while he was on lunch.  He put his fingers in his ears and then got all offended when I pointed out that it was childish.  We had a long overdue meeting the next day :haha:

First day back I found out that one of the guys who actually works was going to be out for a while due to burning himself.  He had an oily bilge and was spraying carb cleaner on top of the engine when his wrench slipped and arced across the starter solenoid :ack:  1st and 2nd degree burns on his face, arms and legs.  He had the foresight to put out the fire before seeking medical attention, potentially saving many boats from burning up, but screwed up when put burn cream on the open wounds.  He should be back within the next few days and is supposed to work in a clean environment for a couple weeks or so.

The other kid who'll actually do stuff when I tell him had to leave cause his wife popped out a baby.  Hopefully he'll be back soon but I'm sure he's going to want to spend some time with the new kid, especially being their first.

So I'm left with 3 total slackers and mostly sub-par mechanics.  I thought this would be no big deal since rentals are way down, but for some reason I'm having to kick in and do a fair share of the boats.

To make matters worse we had to do an engine swap at quitting time.  I should have just sent the newb home and done it myself but it helps to have an extra set of hands.  Got to work at 11am and left at 12:30am.  I don't care about the overtime (especially cause they keep jipping me and I'm getting tired of dealing with it) , I just want crap to be done on time and well!

Off

I'd be fine if they'd let us hire one kid back!  He's worked for us 3 seasons prior and did a great job, didn't get all caught up in most the bs.

We've had at least 3 weeks of over 100*, but, hell it's summer in the freaking desert...what do we want? Today's forecast high is 111*. That's getting a bit warm...causes a little droopage in the shorts.

Dry heat!? as if that's any less discomforting. If you want a dry heat, stick your face in an oven  :flamer:. I'm sure that doesn't make it any better. Hot is hot. It still sucks.  :thud:

117............ everybody was complaining.  I was fine aside from the constant sweat dropping off my head.

Probably the worst part about the higher heat for me is I get lots of tiny little white heads.  I don't usually see them until I go to take out my contacts.

Well for the 1st time in about 25 days, we didn't beak 100*. We topped out at 99*, quite pleasant once you've gotten used to 105*-110*.
