Is there anyway to take the black part of the shifter off the lower bent part of the shifter? Im using the Tacoma shifter with my W56 because of the way its bent but I need to get the plate that holds the shifter down onto the Tacoma shifter. I dont want to cut the thing in half just to swap it if it comes off. There is rubber holding the two pieces together but I dont want to destroy it by breaking the rubber.
