splines, dual case questions
« on: May 28, 2007, 04:59:17 PM »
I have an 84 4Runner 2.4L diesel (2L) with a 5 speed manual, which I'm guessing has a 21 spline output on the tranny.
I've found a 92 Surf 2.4L turbo diesel (2LTE) but I can't remember if it was an auto or manual, and I was wondering if the transfer case would be any good to me? it might be 23 spline being a turbo model.

Whats required to integrate this (if it is) 23 spline case into my 21 spline setup?
If its a manual would I be better off getting the whole gearbox and adding my 21 spline case to it?

I don't really want to go crazy hardcore offroading, and only want to use 35" tyres max.
Cheers

Diesel is cool, but it makes it hard when there is hardly any info on forums about them because America didn't get them :screwy:

I think I am wanting a turbo to bolt to it though, they aren't very fast even on a downhill, but they haul like mad offroad.
