If this is approved.I know that there is quite a bit of interest in doing a Clean-Up the Tower day or weekend from one of the clubs I'm in called 4x4Him Christian Wheelers. Could turn out to be a neat event.
Question: (again from the guy who towed his boat 6 hours to Shaver and hasn't wheeled there yet) How would you rate the trail to the tower (easy, moderate difficult)? How far in miles and time is the tower from a paved road? The reason I ask is it is likely you will receive more support from outside donations and the likelihood of it being staffed by volunteers on the weekends if there is easy (or somewhat easy) access to the tower. If you hear anything from Kathy Ball, the thread should be renamed and placed on top as a sticky event. I might just drive up to pitch in.
That would be great, i'll definately let you know if I hear anything back , i've been looking for a club to join too I'd say easy, but I can't remember exactly, I do remember bypasses on many of the obstacles on the way up to the tower but I wouldn't try to take a 2wd work truck up there. Maybe someone who knows the trail better can chime in , here's a link to the map of the trails up there: http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=27400.0I know i'd be more than willing to load up my truck and haul as much up there as I could
Well we found the Kids that did the damage, they've said they are going to try to fix what they have done. what and when is still in the air.

Actually C.O.B. stands for Clovis Okie BoysOne of our members goes to Clovis High & knows 6 of the 7 who did the damageThey said they wanted to help ......... we will see where that goesI was on the trail that day with BirdDog & FredThe kids didn't appear to be from the dark side
Excellent news there. This is a chance to turn some kids on the fence over to the good side, folks. Let's not screw it up. We've all had our fun as youngin's before we knew the true consequences of our actions. If they fessed up, and are willing to help out - I think the bigger lesson learned here in life for them just may ensure them to be better people, rather than flush down the toilet. It pleases me to hear that they may turn out to the be the type that don't deserve an ass-kickin', but rather some guidance. In the long run, things will be better for them, and us, and everyone.
Started doing a little reasearch and found thishere's the link: http://www.firelookout.org/cr-centcalifornia06.htmI'm going to try to contact Kathryn Ball and see if they would allow someone to clean it up that's not associated with the forst service, like some local wheelerscouldn't hurt
We had a great day of wheeling. But when we got to the top this is what we found. It was done today because it was not there yesterday. We found who we think did it & turned their info in to L.E.Does anybody know what C.O.B stands for.
