didn't get much done, worked on the damn welder all night :shakehead:  got some more coats of paint going and painted a section of the bar :dunno: More work on the welder tomarrow if I cant get it working in an hour I am going back to the stick :moods:

Blingn

here is what Blackdog, Ruger and I got done before memorial weekend

Blingn

bottom braces are in and we are cleaning and fillin in our tacked welds thru the cage, I got two more braces to add in the front by the a pillars, add the braces to the unibody on the bottom of the cage, run the bars from the b pillars by the seats to the cage by the a pillars and tie them in, and build the back of the cage and tie it in.

Blingn

here is the first coat of paint for the new paint scheme check out the bling paint on the cage :bling:

snowshoebrue

The welder isn't getting hot enough.  It'll arc, but it won't lay a bead, it just clumps and the clumps don't even stick to the steel.  I've tried several wirespeed settings vs amps and it's just not working right.... We're using flux core wire, and no gas because our tank gauges leak.

did you reverse the polarity for the flux wire?  did you check the voltage at the plug?

Prolly not (how?), and the plug (meaning the outlet?) works fine.

when you run standard wire non flux core you have to set the polarity one way.  when you use flux you reverse it.  hold on i'll get a pick

We figured there's something that has to be reset inside the welder... somewhere :disturbed:

just change them over at the terminal inside the spool housing.  make sure to unplug it first

I'm liking the new color scheme.

How much more work do you think you have on the cage?

I would say for one person about 2 weeks I only get to work on it 2 hours a night,  since it has been over 100 in the garage I start work on it around 7:30 till about 9:30

snowshoebrue

We got an arc, and was able to keep the arc, but we keep getting droplets instead of beads... it seems like the amps are not high enough, even though it's on the highest settings.  O well, that's a different thread :disturbed:
