you were happy to pay $610 for an elocker? wow, i have seen them a lot cheaper than that, you just need to know where to look

well hey man, where the hell do i look????  i at least want to put a fj80 high pinion with either 5.29 or 4.88's not sure, superlongs and chromoly hub gears up front, if i'm gonna do that i just want to put it all together the way I want it so i dont have to pull it apart all the time to swap :pokinit: out!!! the rear can stay open or go detriot i guess since everyone loves them!!! i have never used one before, i'v only got to drive spools and welded diffs!!

I had a lockright in rear and elocker up front. I  it. I went with a selectable in front so i can negotiate tight turns and still not have a problem driving it in the snow. It might be a little  driving in the snow being fully locked. And the elocker install is very easy, And cheaper then an ARB. Not to mention, with an ARB, If you ever loose air pressure or tear a line, It will come unlocked. Good Luck!

I was concerned about the same thing but it goes great in the snow.  Not difficult to turn and doesn't understeer noticeably.  On Ice it might suck but I've never noticed a single bad habit in the snow.  It just won't stop :D

I would weld/spool the rear end and put some type of selectible locker in the front end.  My rear is welded and I drive 35 miles everyday, and I love it.  I had a automatic locker in the rear and I hated it because it locked and unlocked constantly jerking the truck side to side, plus it only worked right for about 15 miles.  But if you have the money put a selectable locker in the rear.

If I had the money, ARB Air front and rear.

Being me, Aussie front and rear.

I currently run a spool in the rear with nothing in the front.  I find myself DDing my junk less and less these days.

i have a friend who just put in a lockright in the front and an aussie in rear
he was going to put both lockright in front and rear but heard that the aussies dont make as much noise in the rear
but thats just what i hear
i guess money is a real big factor on what locker you can buy
when i get a little more money saved im probaly going to put a aussie in the rear
but im sure what ever you decide it will be better than not having a locker
How can i have another Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Cookie Dookie Sandwhich, if i have not had my first Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Cookie Dookie Sandwhich?

isn't it harder to drift in the dirt while the rear is locked? the detroit engages when a wheel begins to spin faster than the other side right?  :headscratch:

Negative. I know my lockright engages under any cituation as soon as you put power to it. I think the detroits do as well. Some people claim that the detroit is smoother around corners.  :dunno: My friend has one in his V6 daily driver (don't know why he got it) But i rode with him a couple times and didn't notice much, at least an extra $200 worth. People claim that they can hear the lockright lock and unlock, but i still haven't herd a thing.    :twocents:
