^ Your truck and trailer looks sick.

Thanks. That's one heck of a compliment coming from you. Your work is top notch. I have a lot of little ends to tie up with this thing. Here's the link so far...  http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=64543.msg804899#msg804899

Are you talking about air ride parts or steel parts for vehicles? I sell air ride parts but don't really prefer to because it is more of a hassle than it's worth. I don't make anything on them, so the only time I care to do it is when someone brings a vehicle in and just wants it all done, I just order what I need and add it onto the bill at cost + tax. On steel parts I do have jigs set up to make some parts for a few trucks. I make the most parts for Toyotas because that's what I like and have worked on the most. I make dropped motor mounts (for when you Z the frame and need to level it back out), a transmission crossmember, control arms, and 3.5" drop spindles. I make control arms and motor mounts for a few other trucks too. Otherwise I can build any part to your design if you want something custom.

I'm going to be down in your area for a show March 13-14th. Now sure if you where serious about this, or how soon you wanted to do it, but it would save on shipping if I brought it down with me.

what kind of measurements would you need? its a 72' f100 long bed if you have something up there to measure from.

I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...

Some dimensions like this, including the width of the stock frame on the inside of the rails.

A couple of other ways the rails could look.

Are you also wanting the cross members and links done on it? I know it would have the rear most cross member, but I could also add another in the back, around the air tank of fuel tank, and a link cross member with the drive line notch in it.

Also I am thinking 2x4 is a good size since it's a full size truck, but maybe larger would be better based on the frame size? Like 2x5 or 3x5?

I've been hiding in the shop. I'm so busy lately that it's nuts, and I don't really have anyone helping me. I have been spending a lot of late nights at the shop. I'm really physically exhausted and sore right now.

If you need a hand with anything please let me know.. Ive been looking for new work lately and would love to get into a shop.

Up near chico..

A couple buddys told me you were super swamped, and ive been looking for work, but they all said you were local.. Not windsor.. lol

Twisted Minis

Ya Chico is about 3-4 hours North of me I think. I can definitely use help. I have been hiring two of my friends that are working part time whenever I can.

I'm going to a show this weekend (have a booth) so I made a quick prop to hold up the IRS knuckle that has a hub pressed in. Also built an upper link mount for an upcoming project to have some more tangible stuff on my table at the car show.

Unfortunately there is a chance of rain, or I would bring my front clip out too, since that is what it is meant for. But I don't think I have enough room to keep it under the tent and dry. I'm going to do a mock setup in my garage tomorrow and see if it will fit.

Working on a Mercedes for an upcoming LeMons race. Doing a super budget motor swap, almost no money invested in the motor so far. Pics of the donor car, and the motor cleaned up with my old front sump pan on it. Found a used Victor Jr. intake for damn near free. Those of you that may know LeMons know that this could be a challenge. It's kind of fun actually, totally different direction for me than the norm.

Lol, you know I actually asked the same question. I think it is. You know there was one in Hot Rod magazine (and the power tour) that was a replica of the Griswald car with an LS1 in it.

Built a power steering delete/alternator bracket. The alternator is all we will need on this car.

In order to get the motor to fit down low, and sit far enough back to keep the fan from kissing the radiator, the stock cross member needed a little trimming. Once I get the motor placement finalized I will put some gussets in there.

Some shots showing how tight space will be. The PS not so bad, got a few inches to play with for a header. But the DS is looking pretty difficult. It will need a remote oil filter, because the filter can't be removed with the engine installed.

The plan.

Had to modify the pan a little to get it to sit down and back a bit. First shot shows it tacked up, then welded, then testing for leaks. My theory is that oil is thicker than water, and if it holds water it will hold oil. It has worked for me in the past.

Pan had some surface rust that I sprayed Por15 on to neutralize it, which is that white stuff.

Got a question for ya twisted. I just got a 54 ford truck, and i am making a rat rod out of it. Been tossing around the idea of bagging it. I have the rear all planed out, But the front is giving me a prob. I would like to keep the stock axle in it. and link that. So the question is. Have you ever linked and bagged a  solid axle 2wd truck? I would just swap the front clip of a mustang 2 in.  But i really want to keep the solid axle in it. any input would help. thank you, james

Twisted Minis

I have not. The only way I would do it is to swap to a drop tube axle. If someone brought it into the shop I would push clipping it with some stock IFS before MII, and far before the stock axle. It would be a lot of work to make the stock axle work, and IMO isn't worth it. It would cost more in shop time to link the stock axle and do it right (bump steer will be your enemy in doing this) than it would to swap in a Toyota clip or something similar with better geometry. MII is :pokinit: IMO. I hate the idea of rat rodding that truck though. I own a 54 as well, my dream truck, and it will be far from a rat if I ever get around to it.

thanks for the input. only reason this is a rat rod is my 56 chevy is myhot rod..  So you say use toyota front clip? I could get one of them really easy. never really thought of it, but i bet there dang near the same width in frame rails.  would the toyota be better then an s10? been tossing that idea around as well. thanks james
