After the install you would still fail emissions requirements. You need a new EGR valve too.

That is going to cost anuther $5.

You can find front page news articles from back in the 70's telling us that the world was going into it's next ice age and that we were in serious trouble.

I actually remember them feeding us that BS when I was in grade school. And eating it up.  :yumyum: :shakehead:

Unfortunantly being buried in a cardboard box under a tree is PROBABLY a tad bit illegal, majority of people that cremate do it for one reason. ITS CHEAPER!! and alot of people don't have $10,000+ to spend on a funeral.

Say Vern whatcha doin' thar?

QuoteI personally do not believe we are the sole purpose of GW, i do believe we do make our contrabutions to the polutionized air.

Totally agree. We are very polluted, and there it quite a bit we should do about that. You make an excellent point that although we are a huge polluting group of slobs, we didn't cause GW.

QuoteFact is the molten core of the earth is shifting, changing the heating of the surface, the icecapes are shifting and melting because of that, which is causing changes in the salinity of the oceans, and changing of weather patterns.
The warming of the poles will cause a cooling overall eventually...even if we stopped all production of everything that caused CO2 emissions it would not change what is happening.
It is not, yet, the end of the world as we know it. Just a change in the world as we know it.
Nothing stays the same.

Very well said! You have just completly destroyed any pseudo-science that the green-weenies could come up with, with solid, measurable facts. Bravo!

Just saw on the news last night that the idiot who owns Virgin Airlines has offered 25 million $$ to anyone who can create a machine that will remove 25 tons of CO2 per year/month/week/day (not sure which). Hmmmmm. Seems to me that we'd eventually run out of CO2, and then we'll really see what happens to all those trees.

:psss: FYI, algae produces 73 to 87% of the net global production of oxygen. After you factor in grass, plants, and any other miscellaneous things that produce oxygen, you start to realize that trees aren't as necessary for our O2 as one would think. They're still very important to our way of life and do produce a chunk of the oxygen that we breath everyday, but not as much as most people believe.

I don't think that human influence can be held 100% accountable for the warming of our globe. It definitely has an effect though. Think about how much pollution there is from humans all over the world, pollution that wasn't here before human life. The temperature increases unusually for the past pattern, the ocean temps are warmer, and the sea level rises...once a glacier melts to a certain point, it can't be stopped. Something is going on out of the ordinary. People tell themselves, "We have only been able to "accuratly" measure temperature for the last 100-150+ years, and really don't know 1/10 of 1% about anything about how the global climate fluctuates. Sure we can take educated guesses based on fosil records, but we don't really know anything" in order to feel ok about their "carbon footprint" as you call it. But whatever you say doesnt change the scientific method and the law of causality to explain how scientists have come to the conclusion that weather patterns are irregular and there is global warming happening. Believe it or not, when you say something it doesn't make it true.

I just posted this in another forum...same topic.

There is no proof that man is causing the Earth's temperature to rise. There is consensus among some scientists that man is mostly responsible. Science cannot be consensus...it must be fact. I don't recall the time myself, but at one time scientific consensus was that the Earth was flat and the planets revolved around Earth. So much for consensus! I do remember the 70's panic about the coming ice age. I found a link the other day to this .pdf copy of an old Newsweek article on the subject. http://www.glennbeck.com/2006news/newsweek-coolingworld.pdf . Again, so much for consensus.
We do know that Earth's climate is cyclical. The last major period of glaciation ended 10,000 years ago, but some scientists consider us to still be in an "ice age". There was a period known as The Little Ice Age between the 1500s and the 1800s...the climate has been warming since then. We also know that the Sun's activity is also cyclical. Some suggest that the current level of solar activity is, at least in part, responsible for the warming trend. Still others suggest increased volcanic activity or variations in Earth's orbit are the culprit. I could be some confluence of all of these inputs causing the "problem". The point being, there are many, more logical, possible causes.
There is a political/psychological/pseudo-religious mindset (I won't mention any names) that thrives on panic, misinformation and hyperbole to attract and maintain followers. This particular group wants the government to tell everyone how they can talk, what they should think and in some cases what they can't eat (foie gras and trans fats have been banned by some local governments). This is their latest panic fad. Before this the world was being led to ruin down the CFC road...they've been banned, so they moved on to the next emergency. When this one fades, be assured, there will be another to follow.
If you want to utilize or develop new technologies that are less reliant on carbon technologies...I am all for it. I love new technology, if it's better than what is currently in use.  I suggest that our mindset NOT be panic over climate, rather is should be for interest in the new technologies themselves or to help us rid ourselves of the dependence on foreign oil. Since the aforementioned mindset won't let us pump our own oil, won't let us have nuclear power and is constantly launching lawsuits to litgate what they cannot legislate...we need to do something.
The "Global Warming" crisis is more a monumental attack on our freedoms and economy, than it is a legitimate scientific concern.
On May 2nd there is going to be a program to counter the consensus on warming. Since it is Glenn Beck, I presume it's going to be on Headline News.

Crow calls for limit on loo paper

The shows include a short set from Sheryl Crow and film clips
Singer Sheryl Crow has said a ban on using too much toilet paper should be introduced to help the environment.
Crow has suggested using "only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required".

The 45-year-old, who made the comments on her website, has just toured the US on a biodiesel-powered bus to raise awareness about climate change.

She teamed up with environmental activist Laurie David for the shows.

The pair targeted 11 university campuses to persuade students to help combat the world's environmental problems.

I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting

Sheryl Crow
"I have spent the better part of this tour trying to come up with easy ways for us all to become a part of the solution to global warming," Crow wrote.

"Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating.

"I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting."

David (left) and Crow have finished the Stop Global Warming College Tour
The tour ended on Sunday at the George Washington University in Washington DC, where Crow performed with Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Carole King.

Laurie David's husband, Seinfeld creator Larry David, also appeared.

Crow has also commented on her website about how she thinks paper napkins "represent the height of wastefulness".

She has designed a clothing line with what she calls a "dining sleeve".

The sleeve is detachable and can be replaced with another "dining sleeve" after the diner has used it to wipe his or her mouth.

The shows involved a short set by the singer, a talk by David and segments of Al Gore's environmental film An Inconvenient Truth.
