The housing market has really slowed here over the past few months (sucks for me) so houses are going rather cheap.

Property is cheap in south west Va.  Hospitals are always hiring for folks in your work.  Good buddy of mine Eric who is helping me with my truck works for Lewis Gale Hospital says it pays well (he does the same type of work as you) and they let him use the air conditioned shop when ever he wants.  Va does like to tax the residents though.  We got taxes for everything pick your nose and they tax per bugger!

i prefer humidity to. whats funny though is the people here during the summer are always complaining about it being 100-115 with no humidity, yet being in houston with it 95 degrees and 95 percent humidity feels like 115. if there is humidity i can be outside all afternoon and get a mild sunburn that doesnt hurt. here i'm outside for 30 minutes and i'm burnt.

Honestly, the only thing I remember is when I lived in Los Banos, my parents' neighbor owned the ford dealer in Firebaugh.  We bought an Aerostar. It was hot.

Hey, no joke WM and MWM, you two need to look into Utah, by moab. It's extremely beautiful over here. Shoot, you don't even need to live by moab, cause the wasach mountains provide more than enough wheeling all year round. Plus, you can get a house and some acrage for 150K. I was looking at a 5 bed 3 bath with 5 acres for 170K, and thats by the base in Layton.

If you are wanting to looking into house's and property, or anything else over here, i'm sure there are plenty of people willing to help you guys out here in Utah. And if i have to, i will go out and look my self. I have a buddy of mine who make's LOTS of trips down to moab, and he love's it.

Just my 2 cent's. Make the best decision for the two of you, all we can do is try and suggest what we think. Best of luck to you two. And like i said, if you need any help, and at all... hit me up.

Its all still up in the air, but it's such a deal on this property Mark's going to look at we could pretty well pay for it, get a little closer to that end of the country, live there a few years and weigh our options again.

I would much rather the moisture sucked out of my eyes than the breath squeezed out of my lungs. You can't do anything outside when it is humid and 95 degrees.

i was born in it, i feel alive when its humid. i remember when my cousin came to visit us in houston one summer (she's from dallas). she ran track for her high school, long distance, and would run at least 2 miles every day. when she came down to visit she tried to do the same thing, came back drenched and exhausted after only making it abot 1/2 a mile.

Well this one can be crossed off the list, so we are still looking.

Just not worth making a life altering change for. Nice if we were closer to start with and didn't have to give up everything and start over.

Yeah, there is a lot at risk for us to pick up and move. We both have very good jobs here and the economy is great even if the area does suck.

OK who do we have in the GA area that can do some reconnaissance on property there? Mark's company has another shop up there and I am sure there are plenty of architectural firms as well.
I don't know that that area would be any less congested though.
