Toyota Wave
« on: Feb 04, 2007, 09:15:15 PM »
Is there a Toyota wave? Like jeeps? I have been waved to by older Toyota's that I don't know. I was just curious.  It would be cool like wheelers waving to other wheelers, (just Toyota)

:dunno:

I don't really care, if I see a wheelin rig, I'll usually give a wave, or be returning a wave, regardless of make or model.  I'm not too picky,  when it all comes down to it, its all for the fun of wheelin, and recognition of a fellow wheeler.

You mean there's supposed to be!  I wave to every bike I see, and I'd be surprised if 50% of riders wave back.  I still wave to all bikes though, cause I'm not the one who looks like a jerk when they don't wave back

I remember seeing this gray first gen runner headin up I5 once.  I caught it outa the corner of my eye, and when I turned to look I saw a dude doin the "I'm not lookin at you outa the corner of my eye" look.....I think he goes by the name of dan :dunno:

I was just curious, Like an all one "wheeler nation" type of thing. It is funny how people talk about toyota this, toyota that, but when time to wheel generally all rigs are included it just depends on what you like and why. I like the idea of people putting stickers on thier toyotas so fellow toyotas could recognize them from the site, you would use your name on Marlin. I thought it was a cool idea. You could recognize other toyota's better?

:slap: Don't be hatin on Jeeps, they just don't know any better.

:shake: You're a lot more likely to have Jeepers that are into wheeling then Toyota owners as a whole. Unless your vehicle looks like it is offroad worthy chances are it's just another mall crawler (not that Jeeps aren't too)

Jeeps can't know what we really are by sight, and we always get a wave when we're out and about or instigate a wave.

And our Jeep club accepts us despite what we really are.

x2  :eyebrow:

I usually only get waves on or on the way up to the trail, and return them as well. That is if the window is down. Don't give or get them in town, most of the 4x4's around here are mall crawlers, they don't like the look of an actually wheeled vehicle, me thinks it scares them  :nerv: .

I try to wave to anyone that has done some work on their vehicle.  I figure it is a small enough community of folks that we should all stick together.  Besides I like all types of vehicles not just 4x4.

I have (and do) wave to pretty much all wheelers, however, I almost never get waves back from anybody except toys.  I do NOT, however, wave to fullsize guys.  They all have this look that just screams "eat :pokinit:, little guy!" Or at least around here...

Heading down the a trailhead one day, my buddy in a toy passed another toy leaving.  they exchanged waves.  The jeep following my friend in his toy also waved to the passing toy, and didn't even get a passing look.  Pissed her off real good...she couldn't figure it out :haha:

even with a stock runner guys that got lifted true trail rigs see that straight axel under me and give a little honk or wave and i always return the gesture.  :usa:  same idea as a bike, you both have something in common so a simple wave separates you from the crowd.

I never really noticed before but I used to wave and recive waves when I had a K5 on 36's Now that my daily driver is a stock z71 I only get the finger. When I drive to the corner store or to the trail in my toy I don't get waves either they are too buisy staring or picking their jaws up off the floor.(suck a built rig is an oddity around here)

If I see a rig that I like I give them a thumbs up  regardless of the make. A lot of my friends wheel jeeps and they are snobby it is funny if a stock or a lesser modified jeep waves at them they will not wave back it seems like with them a jeep wave is only accepted and returned if the jeep you are waving at is equal to or greater than your jeep. that is deep.
