Does anybody know what this is for?  I've seen this in other sites, and including ours! 

Mostly I've seen it on 4x4 sites.  Is it some 4x4 code between Marlin, and ?
Just curious.  Or is this part of that Y2K crap?

I've seen it on some really old posts here, I just tried to search for them and I can't remember which posts.  And on All-Pro's site.

I've seen it on other sites, but I'm not going to load this post up with them!  It just might be a default date!?
I tried a search, but it won't do a date search!  Just what's in the subject and body of a post!!  I know for a fact I've seen it on this site, cause it was on some old posts that I searching in!

I googled Dec 31 1969 and the last link on the first page says:

But when I click the link I have to login to get further.... upon further investigation I found another page that also references the "unix timestamp" in the paragraph under the box.
