Yeah sounds exactly like what marlin told me would happen to my inchworm adapter.  The marlin tacoma to gear drive adapter has some sort of different sealing design that doesn't have the leaking issues like the inchworm one does.  I waited as long as I could (2 months) to get the marlin adapter but they didn't have the coupler spline adapter in.  Nothing like a little bit of gear oil huh in the hair.

Ramrod

ya i couldnt pass up the rotation

Hyena

my inchworm addapter has been leaking for over a year now.  sucks ass.

are you guys trying to say that Inchworm sucks?

not really just saying that the inchworm adapter could have some improvements to it.  My buddy who is a machinist looked and it and was kinda disappointed on how it was made.  Not to mention that it didn't come with any instructions and it doesn't seal very well.  Its nice to be able to clock it, but again it took a little bit of thinking to get the holes figured out.  I had to drill out some of the holes to get it to bolt up.  Again instructions would've been nice.

Ramrod

was trying to get my laptop to connect to the internet and went to sit on the couch for a minute and passed out for hour and a half with it apparently connected heres some pics........
grandcherokee rear coils....possibly too short:

tweaker gussets

in there homes
outside of frame........notched to clear slider plate

inside

double bent tube going to wrap around plate

there is one more gusset i made but cant put on that tube till a bunch of stuff is fully welded and then a big piece of 4x4 by .25 that will come off the plate with the holes in it and go up to the middle of the 2x4 piece but i need to do a bunch of welding before that goes in.... for the upper coil mounts im just going to weld in some tube that the coil kinda just threads into like what 4runrrick did on quasimoto

Ramrod

oh and i found this piece of dimpledied 1/4" plate that fits perfectly in here with no trimming, should i use it?

hell yeah, weld it in!!! i'd say those coils are too short, i dunno though. I'm trying to figure out the longest coils i can run or what brand, year, make, that are the flexiest to put on the rear of the truggy.....

that plate does fit perfect. id wait to weld it in. it kinda looks tight w/o it in there but it would probably look cool in there too. lay it on there once you have everything back together and the wheels on it to see if you like it. it will definitely strengthen it up though.

i highly recommend giving this new setup a minor beating before you test it out for its first time far far away from home where something could fail. it'd be better breaking close. fix it, make it stronger and your good to go. youll be able to see how the truck reacts to surtain :pokinit: to....

my truck had barely been put in 4wd let alone wheeled at all before i took it to the hammers last year.  im confident in the truck but still plan on testing it out before i take it down there

ToYocRawleR

Are you going to run any limiting straps or shocks?

ya im running the same shocks i had on it before and some bumpstops inside the coil spring.  Probably no limiting straps in the rear but most likely a winch to suck it up and down

Yota4life

Looks good. Everyone linking there crap is making me want to do mine even more. Im so sick of the axle wrap in the rear....  How much separation is there between the upper and lowers?

Ramrod

like 9" at the axle and 8" at the frame.  I kinda screwed up and wish i would have made more at the axle end so i could get better use of the adjustable upper mounts and more room for my driveshaft but it should work good like this
