Were they welded before and just blew apart or was it open?

Edit: Durr i see it was welded. :hammer:  Reweld it and weld the spider gears to the carrier this time. And weld them to the torque shaft that goes through them.

damn how does drive around on the street w/ the rear welded ...i'd say you could reweld them with no prob. or jus get a spool..

Ramrod

it drives better with the rear welded than how I have been with the detroit front and 5psi.

:hammerhead:

god I should hope so! i drove around for about 2 weeks with an OPEN front and it blew major ass, the detroit I have now is WAY smoother than my open front was, and that was on street pressure.

Ramrod

so I havent done :pokinit: lately cuz my eyes been all fagged off and I finally went in today after work and got some rusting metal scrapped off my cornia.  tommorow afternoon ill fix the truck, im just gonna reweld it with a big shopmaster and throw in a piece of plate to tie it together

Ramrod

trucks all back together and home again, but now im leaving again so its still sitting dead in the water for a while. possible con trip next weekend, who's in?

Ramrod

been driving this truck relentlessly on the street lately and its holding up well besides the rear suspension which continues so sag farther and farther and wrap up more and more so today was the big day and my new debit card came so I just ordered up a shitload of parts from ballistic fab and polyperformance to solve those problems

olivedrab85

You gonna have this ready by sept 14th?

Ramrod

im leaving for the weekend but while im gone im drawing up all the rest of my mounts on some graph paper so my buddy can cut them out with his plasma and then I can get this :pokinit: going.  we'll see when my parts come from ballistic I might get it going before the roundup and that would be sick

Shamb

doubt it, from what i've seen Ballistic isn't in any hurry on getting parts to customers.

I think Brad can contest for that and possibly Kyle?

I would love to see this thing linked for the round up though.

What kinda beef you running?

i'm not sure what im gonna use for links.  brads boss was trying to sell me some pipe that was 1 7/8" od and 3/8" wall.  all ballistic coil mounts, flex joints on the bottom.  johny joints on the upper for adjustment and 3/4" heims for the panhard.  Probably just run whatever beefy looking tube I can find laying around for the upper and panhard since there not in danger of being hit.  My friend is gonna build the panhard and upper link mounts so that there up nice and high and have a few adjustment settings

Ramrod

just won a set of xj springs from a 99 off of ebay for $17.50

Ramrod

just got all my joints and threaded inserts from ballistic!!! kinda random how late they came but who cares?

Ramrod

there not actually.  this is my first week of school and just so happens to also be my busiest week of the year for work also and trying to take care of my own :pokinit: on the side has left pretty much no time at all.  I think im just gonna wait to tear it apart before I fab anything so I can get it perfect

kiyul4130

its raging here. just went to the store to get a bottle of whiskey and a ton of people are out. come up here tomorrow.

yeah so I was over at hyena's house yesterday and he was a nice guy and pointed out there was like a 1/4" gap between my steering arms and knuckle.  Damn I guess you guys know who hasnt been checking there nuts.  While I was there I got a couple new leaf packs so I can hopefully lower my truck a little.  And I was thinking about it and its a good possibility i'll be linked by roundup time.  Maybe start this friday

Ramrod

thinking about putting these new leafs in I was reminded about how toasted my bushings are and that they have been since they were about 2 weeks old and I got searching for some good ones.  Here is the part # for daystar polyurathane bushings for the toyota rear springs -Daykt02001re  I ordered them from 4wheelparts and it was $18 for the 12 bushings needed which is actually $10 cheaper than the crap napa bushings

Do you know if that kit comes with sleeves? I know the energy suspension kit i bought didn't.

Ramrod

I hope it doesnt cuz I dont want them.  Why would it actually?  my truck uses all 19mm bolts

Ramrod

just got my coils in the mail they look chill and are definitly soft.  Had a long talk with dan from ruffstuffspecialties.com earlier about panhard mounts and all kinds of other stuff so I figured i needed to also buy something from him also so I ordered up some brakets to do a disk brake conversion out back

Ramrod

I guess I should say the reason I chose that part is because my right rear backing plate is badly smashed and a large chunk is missing from the drum and also I already have the rotors and calipers!!
