only time i've ever broken on the trail, I had mentioned how "i beat this thing and it just asks for more!"  and then my fuel pressure regulator died and I looked like an ass.

You gotta keep them lug nuts tight. :(

While I'm here let me share this one.

We were on a Jeep poker run and I was leading a group when the trail bottle necked into a section of woods where there was a lot of downed trees. I sent the others back around and I proceeded to make my way over the trees. After a few tries and almost getting high centered I decided to launch over them. after getting over and back to the trail  I found the front shackles had flipped and we had to hold up the groups progress to fix my screwup. Had I gone around like everybody else we may have been one of the first back to the meeting spot.

was swiching tranfercase gears and my heel pushed in the
in button. kept hearing this whining noise from the cb and
thought WTF. sounded like my transfer gears. but the winch
kept tighting up till it blew out the side cover. :smack:
glad i diddnt need the winch the rest of the day.

Several years ago, a local club I was in went up to do Swamp Lake/Dusy. As we were headed through a fairly easy portion, we had to climb a small step of roots. My 72 'cruiser died. We fiddled with all sorts of differnet things trying to figure it out. Thought it was the carb, then the ignition. Nothing! Finally I jumped into a buddies Jeep, we wheeled all the way back to Shaver lake, found the Napa store, and bought everything we could think of for the ignition system...plugs, points, condenser, cap, rotor...the whole package. Nobody had a feeler guage, so we set the points using a matchbook cover. After doing all this, I jumped in and tried it...Nothing! As I threw my head back in total disgust, I looked up and realized that I'd somehow thrown the safety switch (antitheft) that I'd installed just a few days before and had completley forgotten about. I casually reached up, flipped the switch, and it started on the first try! I actually drove around with my points set by the matchbook cover for almost 2 years afterwards, 'cause it ran better than it ever did when using the feeler-guage.

my front drive shaft is too short, so i had to run this trail up in parachute called the battlements backwards to keep my front drive shaft from seperating, i made it up the mountin, but my neck really hurt, i put shocks on, and added a few inches, and no problems now.

I once lost my timing chain in the middle of 21 road, now that sucked

Fordh8r & I were in Hollister   & my 4Runner was stock & still had IFS    Going up a flat trail I noticed that the left front tire had popped the bead    I put on a spare & continued up the trail. There was a spot were I had to climb out cause the rest of the trail was getting difficult. I couldn't get out so I continued up the trail with Fordh8r spotting me & he noticed the left front bead had popped off on the spare tire this time. I just changed it not even 10 minutes earlier  :smack:  Put another spare on & had to thrash to get out. Made it out & it was time to leave   Went to air up & found that the right rear tire had dirt between the bead & rim  :smack:  Got one of the other tires to air up & changed that one this time. All this in 30 minutes!  :outtahere: Felt like I should have been on a pit crew for NASCAR!

MCR5, was right above old sluice heading down and all four drivers side steering arm studs decided to sheer.  ended up stoping traffic for an good hour and half or so.  wouldn't have been so bad but the passenger side had broke the week before.
