Hell yeah brother!! That GTS has a factory Toyota limited slip diff in the back!! I've autocrossed both a Hatchback GTS and a 2 door GTS and I love em. Definately easy to get sideways. As they say in Japan, the "hachi roku" (8 6, a slang term for its chassis # AE86) is the Drift King!!

If you want to get serious with it, then find a wrecked 1988-1989 MR2 with a 4A-GZE, which is the Supercharged version of that engine, and since that engine was offered stateside, it is a smog legal swap.
The 4A is a GREAT engine, but man oh man does it ever come alive with a bit of boost :boozer: Get it up to 12-ish psi and you're looking at an increase of about 40 ft-lbs torque, which is a good 80 ft-lbs more than the stock normally aspirated engine. That's nearly doubling the torque output and its still all smog legal

American Specs:
Stock Normally Aspirated form, 4A-GE: 112hp / 97tq
Stock Super Charged form, 4A-GZE: 144hp / 140 tq

Japanese Specs:
Stock Normally Aspirated form, 4A-GE: 138hp / 109tq
Stock Super Charged form, 4A-GZE: 170hp / 152tq

Dang Japanese Market, why do they get to have all the fun :dunno: If we only could have 100+ octane fuel at every street corner
