right hand drive truck
« on: May 06, 2006, 01:03:57 AM »
Hi folks, does anybody know if you can get a hi steer cross over kit for a RIGHT hand drive 1989 yota ? we dont have offroad shop here in the UK like you have in the US so finding parts is a bit of a problem, also is there a limit on leaf spring lift before the kit wont fit? I know you would class my truck as a mall cruiser but it does attract :boobs:  and it earns it keep with advertising money  :gap:

This question has popped up a few times. At this time I think there isn't any arms that can be used for right hand steer trucks, but I could be wrong.

I still think it would be wise to make a two hole arm for the left side so it can be used for this purpose.

That is a great question.  Didn't you guys have a straight axle front untill 95 or so?

not wanting to sound as daft as a brush but straight axle front ??  if you meant a solid axle as opposed to a ifs  front end then we still have new trucks being made/sold over here with the solid axle. I have a hydro assist setup on my truck but I wanted to convert it to a marlin setup.

Would it be difficult to modify Marlin's current design to get it to do this?

Oh man, I haven't heard that expression in ............. wait, I've never heard it!  Yea, straight axle, solid axle, apples and apples man.  As far as toyota, it's only the landcruisers and their truck versions that get a solid front axle, correct?
