Right-hand drive P/up
« on: Apr 01, 2005, 03:59:22 PM »
As I stay in South Africa I own a 1992 right-hand drive 4x4 P/up, will I be able to fit a High Steer Crossover Steering system from Marlin 4x4 & Offroad to my truck?
The same question goes for suspension and body lifts. (Will the parts fit my right-hand drive P/up?)

I think that Marlin Crawler's x-over steering arms will not fit onto the RHD truck. I think that they will fit but has an issue with the studs breaking and such. I am pretty sure this issue was brought up not too long ago from a person that lives in Austrailia.

As far as the other stuff goes, from my understanding, it should bolt right up.

Well, I am right.

Here is the link to the topic in why Marlin Crawlers high steer arms will not work: http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=8499.0

Thanks, helped a lot, someone should think of fabricating the good stuff for r/hand drive trucks, there's a big, almost untouched, market in S/Africa and I believe we are not alone.

A cool truck here has 8" rims, 265x15x75(huge) tyres, a bullbar (front bumper), towbar(rear bumper) and a rollbar. It is the exception if you come across a truch better than this.

I could see my fellow 4x4buddies thought I took some banned substance when I started talking about "Rock Crawling and articulation"

I am sure this has happened to other people as well...

8" rims?  Wow, never saw that before.  Some pics would be cool.
What studs keep breaking?  And what would make em break, aren't the axles and steering the same?  (aside from being flip flopped).
Also, I noticed some people wanted 2 more holes drilled in the arms.  How would this help?  And if it would why can't teh customer drill the holes himself?

Adding 2 more studs would strengthen the the arm/nuckle bolting by half.  You will now have 1 1/2 more strength then just the 4 studs.  Studs break most of the time becasue they come loose.  you should check them once i na while and before every wheeling trip.  Last memorial i counted over 10 trucks with broken nuckle studs.  One truck in my group broke all the studs on both nuckles.  He had to hike out for parts.
