The Official "To Do" list before MCR5
« on: Mar 27, 2006, 08:10:40 PM »
Well here is what I NEED to do before the Roundup:
Replace my leaking axle seal, and might as well change bearings too.
Install Sky Transfercase crossmember for my duals with Twin stick
Build atleast a rear bumper, possibly a front too.
Build or buy a set of beadlocks
Get some spare birfs, a spare hub, spare drive line, random nuts and bolts
Find a full size spare...Hint Hint 38x12.50x15
Buy and install interior cage
Weld on F&R diff armor
Install rock lights

What I WANT to do before the Roundup:
Bob the bed
Line X the bed and floor of cab
Build a under the bed storage
Get 30 splines
OBA or a power tank equivalent
Get a whip antenea for my CB
Find some bucket seats

Ya I got a lot of crap to do. I best make some money and get to work on my truck.

What have you got to do?

Ok, to do:
Install new trans/divorced tcase/front driveshaft
Get full size spare on rim (35")
Sliders
Rollbar (If not full exo)
Possibly depending on how the measurements go, double up after recovering from the tranny swap
Install shocks
Get/Install winch
Lockers front and rear
Re-gear to 4:88's
Swap out steering to something that works better :dunno: what yet
New rear leafs

And prolly tons more that I can't think of right now :hammerhead:

Thanks Mini  I actually might have to compromise between the FJ80 axle or a new set of tires.. I don't have as much debt this summer, but I still don't think I'll be able to pull everything off :dunno:

Well, I have to...
1. Rewire the whole thing
2. Make a fuel cell
3. Plumb the fuel and oil lines
4. Make a flat bed
5. Make new seat brackets and install the "new" seats I've had for a year
6. Make a cage
7. I'd like to get a FROR front axle housing
8. I'd like to make a small trail-worthy trailer
9. Install the FROR crossmember
10. Then decide whether or not I can drive the thing to Cali, but I really, really want to see the Rubicon

1. Win lottery
2. It'll fall into place since I won't have to work.
3.

sorry, I couldn't resist

In reality, to make MCR5 I would need:
Lift
Tires/wheels
swap gears from my wreck
new sliders at the least

it'd be tough, but I could make it like that.
