I don't plan to. I don't really need much more forward lighting while night wheeling.

Got the bumper mocked up. Gonna need some 4" x .250" angle iron to make new frame mounts,as well as some 1/4" (maybe 1/8"??) to run to the body mount bolts. and I got one end capped off.

DO NOT MOUNT THEM TO YOUR BODY MOUNTS! it will vibrate! mine does.... i hate it..... make it solid!

huh? it will be mounted to the factory mounts up front as well as the body mounts for some support.

i know... thats how my smitty is mounted... and it vibrates... cause the mount bushings give... to vibration... making the bumper vibrate.
never been able to get mine to be solid.

I'm pretty sure that most of the all pro/marlin style bumpers attach to the body mounts

I ground off the little tabs that were welded on the back of this thing...lots of extra metal. I got tired and quit. I got the other end capped off as well.



cut out some plate to fill in the inner ends, and tapped them in.


this was a PITA to keep it from falling


and since I have the hair spiked today, I can't wear a welding hood :_oops: so I threw on some sunglasses and tacked them all the way around.




I think I'm done for today. I have no more steel to work with.

You're using flux core wire?  Have you tried that spray on anti-spatter stuff?  I tried it and was fairly happy with the results.

Yeah I have a can of it here...I only seem to use it on sheetmetal though. Most of the dingleberries don't stick much on thick stuff. :dunno:

maybe you oughta read the post, Mr Dickhead.  I didn't wear a helmet, I just put on sunglasses and did it. I didn't do any more work because I don't have any angle iron laying around in the size I need.
