thanks guys.  I centered it because Ive been toying around with the idea of dovetailing it when i bob it...I would have to narrow the tailgate and this would still work.

:slap: no, the paint was still wet and the flash brightened it up quite a bit.  I'll get a pic tomorrow with it on the truck.

it's a 40ft paint job...should be great for smacking rocks and such.

here is a closeup of the difference in color.  this was the closest stuff we had in stock.

Dude I like the way you mounted your plate. Mine was taped on my back glass because there is no place on the bumper I built for my truck after bobing the bed. Thanks for the heads up about the brace in the middle. I'm going to mount mine to the passenger side and get I light on it before johnny law speaks to me again  :yesnod:

we are not in England, Thomas.  It's COLOR.

:) it is just red primer-sealer from the NA-PA.  i don't recall the part number.

we'll see.  I do have other bodywork i could do, so if I do, I will use that color on it; it's way closer than the patch on my hood.

I'm glad I looked in here, I've been thinking about doing this since the MC rear bumper covers the license plate a lot even after moving up as high as it will go in the stock area.  I'm not sure how much longer the CHP and city police are going to not notice the rear plate  :_oops:

I didn't notice, where did you run your wires?  I was thinking I'd drill a hole in the bottom of the tail gate and extend the plate light wires into the tail gate.

That'd be how I'd run them, holes in the bottom of the gate and the bed right below with grommets in each.

Thanks Jason.

To all the rest, I ran two wires with a two-way connector through the factory hole in the bottom drain hole of the gate, and a short extension and the other side of the disconnect on the truck side.  I used the hole in the center of the bed, as the wires can tuck in thru the tire tool hole in the bed.  I can snap a pic tomorrow if needed.

if I'm honest I haven't looked that close at the tailgate yet and didn't realize there is already a drain.  That probably made things a bit easier.

I've never tried body work like this before but it no time like the present to give it a shot  :beerchug:

Since it is getting sunny/nice again I am thinking of starting another set of halfdoors.  I have done some drawings and have come up with a couple options.

red is my original idea on the last doors.  Pretty sure I'm not going to do that one.
Green is my number 2 idea right now
Green with the black added on is number 1.

any ideas? what do you guys think?

go green with black, but maybe dip the green line a little bit lower, like another 1/3 of the way to red.
