A whopper? Unless it just looks alike I have the same camera case. My case measures about 5 to 6" long making that fish about 6-7" long.
I don't know about you, but round these parts that is called bait!

Kinda looks like a shad, which in small form here IS bait, but they do run in the river and can be pretty decent size.

  OK BD ya want to be a smart    check it out...that's am eight inch chef's knife by the way.. Landed it about two years ago, about half a mile up stream of the first one you saw.  Large river+ fast water + 4wt fly rod + size fly = 26.8 inch fish.  And by the way that is on the small size for the steelhead we use to catch out on the left coast.
