i don't necessarily consider having a high top speed fast.  in fact i don't go much over 70 on a dry warm day in my truck since it's scary at that speed.

however, acceleration is king, and my truck has a ton of that.

Yeah, ussualy when someone says a car is "fast" they're not just talking top speed :psss:

Sure my car isnt the fastest out there now, but this summer I am going to stage 2, which is STi spec power and sounds a lot better. Just no center diff controller. Then we will see. I dont want the fastest car in the world, just fast enough to get the job done. Scaring my friends is a bonus.

Stock STI spec? What do you mean sounds allot better? One turbo 2.5 flat four will not sound much different then another ???  cause by then my buddy will have probally over 400 crank about 320 wheel which is good for probally high 11s

wiseco 12:1 pistons are a bit pricey, aroung $100 each, you can get Plenty of power to fly in that sammy with a stock 20R head on a stock 22R block, easy 100HP right there, compared to the 1.3 sammy at 60HP :thud:

Yeah thats a good jump but I can get a 1.3 DOHC 16V suzuki swift motor that has forged crank and pistons, makes about 100hp, takes boost very well :ladys-man:  and bolts up to my tranny, motor mouns and even my intake (if I do propane) only mod is fire wall clearancing for the dist and electric fan and its still super light :yesnod:

Only down side is lack of low end power, but I have 6.4:1s now and want to add another 1.8:1 case which will put me at 201:1 with 4.37s or 474:1 if I put 4.3:1s in the first case  or 574:1 with 5:29s  :beerchug: Look out big mike :rofl2:

100hp from 1.3 L  is awesome,  i actually thought about a 3SGE from a celica today,  they used them in the geo prizms also  and very well may bolt to your zuki tranny

and a 3sge  is 160-175  1998cc

  :dunno:  :headscratch:

Yeah I know what stage 2 is and stage 2 on a WRX will get you to what my friends had rolling of the dealer lot, :hammerhead: and he now has stage 2, with turbo back 3" exhaust and a K&N, Which puts him at an ESTIMATED low 12 quater mile now

Heres the dyno sheet if you dont believe me but this was done in close to 100* weather which really hurts a turbo car. Oh and if you don't already know AWD take aprox 25% of your horse power

And like I said soon he will have a dyno tune done that will put him at over 400 crank horse power and about 320 at the wheels, Which should put him at about mid to high 11s

Yeah I've seen an '06

'05 :ladys-man:

I dunno just me I guess

guys guys put yer E-thingys away this is lame

Well whatever I got nothing to prove(edit: I drive a busted ass samurai for gods sake :shocking: ) besides the point I was trying make in this post

Well we are not saying fast compared to your sports car just fast compared to other toyotas.
Besides I dont consider your car fast anyway, my friend has a modified STI pushing close 400hp that would make your WRX look like it had a 22R and push 170mph but that is different standards, there are also tons of cars that will make his car look like a toy, I rest MY case

I wasn't trying look cool by posting this I was just trying to say that when someone says my toyota truck is fast they ussaly dont mean like I can do 130mph and a 14 sec 1/4 mile, they just mean it is fast compared to other 4x4s :_order:

What is this? This is a post about subarus not propane

Cheak the title before you post this crap!

 :hammer:
Anyway how much power did you feel? A little more low end?
I am now thinking of just doing the got propane kit for my 1.3 and then swapping in a swift motor and bolting my manifold to it

been following the post and your link. great info! but did you have to do anything to your motor? internally? or were you just able to bolt the kit on and go? does it make more power then a 22re? i have a 22re in my truck right now but it is about to :pokinit:.. burns oil like crazy, i have a 22r that needs a new rod bearing that i was thinking of throwing in if the propane makes more power then my 22re, what kind of mileage do you get out of it?
thanks

propane won't make your truck go faster than gasoline(if you're comparing 2 identical engines, one running gas, one running pane), since it has less energy potential than gasoline.  however, it is very high octane so you can crank the compression up or run forced induction without pinging, which will translate into a lot more power.

the main benefit of propane is that you won't stall on angles like a carb, but doesn't require a complicated EFI swap.  most kits just use the throttle plate from your carb and mount a mixer assembly on top.

it's also much cleaner burning that gasoline, so clean that when you go to change your oil, it will still look nearly brand new.

Well on got propanes website they claim that thier kit is a big improvement if converting from carb but from EFI I am pretty sure there is a small loss, but they also sell a turbo kit :driving:

I went from 35's to 38's the same time I did my propane conversion so its hard to tell but I'd say yes it has the same power my carb had with 35s if that makes any sense
