don't waste your time on the 4.375s. they're weak, i had one blow up for no reason driving down the street. better off with 4.56s if you don't want to go with 4.88s or 5.29s.
Sorry if this question seems stupid, but I'm new to the Toyota scene... Anyway, I was talking w/ a co worker the other day about gears, and he said he has a set of FJ40 diffs he may be willing to part with. They have 4.37 gears (he thinks) but he is unsure what vintage they are. I know the rear diff has an off set pumpkin, but would the third members work in my '81 4x4's housings? I was told the are desirable and high pinion, but I haven't seen them yet, and really don't know any better.-Steve C.
