My FJ40 is still "under construction". So far I have it set up with a 327 small block, Toy mini truck axles, spring over axle, relocating spring perches - front axle pushed 1" forward, rear axle pushed back 3" by reversing LC springs, disassembled and tefloned spring packs, Marlin high steer crossover steering setup, chev sagonaw p/s + column, 35" BFG mud terrains on alum rims.

Stuff im working on: I have a SM465 4 speed that I am replacing my old turbo 400 setup with. My 465 has the LONG 32 spline output shaft on it. Marlin set me up with a short 10 spline mainshaft which will hook up to a 465 toybox that will serve as an adapter to a minitruck transfer case.

Stuff I still need to get: A family cage, some kind of fuel cell or aux tank, have Marlin build me a transfer case, hydraulic clutch master and slave set up, gauge set and dash, Id like to get some kind of on board air, Longer shocks and shock hoops, rock sliders, plus a ton of hidden extras and things I never thought of!!

my fj 40 is a '66 white,basically stock ,6cyl,three speed on the floor, who ever had it before me changed over to floor mount shift (for the transfer) ,rigth now it sits on 31's and has 4in shackels, future plans include sliders, spring over ,power steering, lockers,,on board air, full cage,but for now i just run what i brung,I have some pic on the 4x4Him forum...

You guys got any more wheelin' pics? I need me some inspiration. Hope to get the tranny set up with the new mainshaft in the next week or so.. gotta order up a mini truck transfer case too.. Im thinking that I should wait until Marlin gets the new shop operational.

Sounds sweet Hammer, how do you have the 465 set up? Are you still using the LC transfercase?

I'm running the 3-spd T-case from my 69 FJ40 for now.  I am building a center diff rear axle using the mini hybrid technique so I can run a 205 T-case or a mini case.  Can you say "Doubler"?

I'm using the Cruiser third member with mini axles and brakes.  Later I can upgrade to rear disc using GM calipers.  I'll be welding up the housing soon...

Well, What has Marlin done for my rig?  I am on my 2nd knuckle rebuild kit (all my fault). I am running mini truck knuckles with Marlin's steering arms. Very soon I wii install the FJ80 mastercylinder I got from MC. Other than that it's a hodgepodge of a bunch of other stuff.  1973 rig, 2F, Aussie H41, Orion, 4.88's, locked(now on both ends), SOA, Metaltechcage, 37" Irok's.THe list of other insignificant mods is too long for me to think about. It's pretty basic compared to today's trends and standards IMO. Why you may ask did I go with the Orion? Simple, NO driveline modifications. What's the drawback? Not too many options for low range gearing. What's in the future? I'd like to find another hard top, but I don't know how it would fit on the aluminum tub.

typical mullet setup.  this is basically stock, 4"lift, 33X12.50's, SUA, stock steering, upside down bezel.  Im working on SOA, PS, lining the tub with herculiner and POR due to a little rust.  When all is said an done, it should be pretty cool.  Props to all the LC's out there.  Thanks for all the good tech and keeping your 40's alive.

Just got my '64 Friday night. It's got a 327, 465 Toy 3 speed case. '76 front axle, scout box, sprung over on 38s, semi-float 60 in the back. I plan to stretch the wheel base a good 10+ inches, hopefully link the back in the next month or so, oh and theres another 60 sitting in the garage for the front eventually.

Hey,
I have a 78 FJ40 with the stock engine. It has an SM420, 3-speed t-case, f/r ARB's, f/r discs, underhood welder and shower, OBA, Saginaw, 4-point harness belts, SOA w/35" Toyo Open Country MT's, etc.

In a couple of weeks I'm having a 2.28 Toybox and a 4.0 Orion installed. I'm also having the rear spring hangers moved as far back as possible and having FJ60 springs installed.

Ok just bought this beuty. it´s a Landcruiser 2000 model. we call it a ´90 cruiser here in Iceland I don´t know what it´s called in the states.

I am gonna put an hilux housing in the front, and am planing on 5,29 reverse, with an electric locker and coilovers.
I will be inserting a dual toyota t-cases with 4.70 in the rear... I am still to find out how I am gonna do that but I am gonna.  I was planing on getting one of those twin shifters and controlling that with air motors.
And probably eventually I am gonna throw away the stock suspencion in the rear........

hey i have a 67 fj40 pontiac 215 ya its a v8, behind it is a t350 trans adapted to the 10 spline transfercase springover f&r looking tofour link the rear and move the revolvers to the front. trying to post a pic put havent got the rights yet

Hello and thanks for the invite!  We have an 84 FJ60 - stock for now.  Am wondering about some things and need some assistance.  Have to swap tcase (was supposed to be new when bought and just blew after 1 week).  I believe it is a H42 and I have another one, any technical tips on the swap???  It was making a god awful racket when decelerating before it went out.
