Locker question V-6 and 4 cylinder app diferences
« on: Nov 13, 2005, 02:50:25 PM »
I have a 4 cylinder locker laying around, what would be the pros and cons of installing it in a v-6 rear? Are they as strong and compatable? what would need to be done to make it happen? Thanks

If it is a lunch box locker you won't be able to put it in a v6 carrier. I don't know about a full carrier type locker.

I bought it about 10 years ago for a 4 cylinder truck  (Dynatrac Detroit locker). What is a lunch box locker?  Lock right?

A lunchbox locker is a locker that fits in a stock empty carrier like a lockright or an aussie locker.

Dynatrac lists two diffrent part#s for 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder app, I wonder whether it is just about the axle teeth count or what. May have to ebay my locker assembly and go for V-6 locker
