KWP's 88 toy truck
« on: Jan 06, 2008, 02:26:06 PM »
I thought I would put up some pics of my newest project. It's not done yet but will be soon. Specs are, Dana 60's front and rear, 5.38 yukon gears lincoln locked, 39.5 pitbull rockers on procomp extreme alloys, 3 inch downey rears up front, one link rear with aerostar coils, 3slow with an a340h auto, soon to be replaced with a jeep aw4 tranny and Dana 300 tcase. I wanted to tube bed it, but for now I am going to bob the bed I have and run with it. Well, on with the pics.

Sweet

That thing is WIDE!! I am guessing it is going to be a trailer queen :D nice rig, looks like you are going to have to chop a lot out of that bed to stuff those 39s under there comfortably. I love yotas on 60s, always looks bad ass

Yea it's a little too wide. I am running a dually D60 front and 2 inch spacers on the rear to match the front. As soon as I find some SRW hubs cheap, it will be narrowed up some. As far as being a trailer queen, hell no. The only time it will see a trailer is on wheelin trips that are a good distance away. The police in my area don't bother too much with rigs like this, so that's not a problem. I am definatelly going to have to do some chopping on the bed. It will be bobbed front and rear as well as alot of sawsall action on the wheel wells. :gap: I should have most of the body work wrapped up this weekend, then it's on to the cage and bumpers

Ahh gotcha. That must be nice, to not have the police harassing you left and right. here in cali im lucky if i can go a couple of months without getting pulled over. they give me a ton of :pokinit: just for having 35x12.50s on 15x10 rims that stick out like 6 inches from my fenderwells....they would be all over your rig here lol

anyway looks sick definitely cant wait to see the modified bed on there

I'll try to get some pics of the one link and some flex pics up this weekend. It will hopefully be running under it's own power by then  :crossed:

Thanks for all of the compliments, it's getting there. I hope to have it done within the next month. I am considering going out on a job in Vegas in about two months and would like to take it with me. The job is supposed to last a year, so if I go I would like to get some wheeling in while i'm there.

Yea. I just cut the cage off and pulled off what was left of the body and set the 88 2wd cab on it. All I had to move were the back two cab mounts and it fit like it was made for it.

It's a little wider than I would like, but it will work for now. I plan to pull the DRW hubs off the front, put some SRW hubs on and ditch the rear spacers. I also have some 35 spline rear shafts waiting to go in as soon as I can get a 35 spline spool.

No, I used everything to build this truck. The buggy was fun, just not in bad weather :disturbed:

I'm not exactly shure :dunno:. I havn't taken the time to measure it. If it would ever stop raining here, I could get back out to work on it and get a measurement :maddest: I'm kinda curious myself.

Damn, sorry to hear about your rig. Hopefully you can get it going again soon. I couldn't pass up the job in Vegas. I'll be making 5 times what i'm making here. I will probably be back in town every other weekend, so if the rig is done, I might be able to make big meats. I've been wanting to go to one.
