Question on Bobbing beds

might be in the wrong section but im in the process of buying an 89 extended cab toyota with a long bed. i want to bob the bed 14" from the back of the tail lights and i also want to bob it at the front of the bed. whos all done this. any write ups that i might find on what others have done and tricks they did.

i have owned a xcab long bed, i took 12 inches off the front, 16 off the rear, it looked weirdtacular, i liked it, kinda like the minibeds on the tacomas with the doublecabs. i then took part of the frame off the rear to componsate

So it had a 7 ft. bed and not the 6 ft.

i took 14" out of my bed.i measured from the tailgate up 5"inch's cut.then measured 14" cut.then i put the tail piece back on and welded it,and i still use my tail gate.i took a lot of photosand would like to show them but the files are to big for this site.there like 1.3 mb.. i do have them on MSN.com -88 bobbed bed- i think it's still there.bobbing my bed was the easiest mod i did to my truck.

Wow Marlin is turning into pirate quicker and quicker how dare a nob ask a question? I rarely find and answer with a search because my question isn't close enough to the answer. People don't always know what to ask because they haven't seen something that they are asking about before.

maybe, but it was short afterwords, it was a canadian truck so, i dont know what it started out as
