OH well, another vacation comes to an end time to pack it up and head for points south again.
But firstly... more pics!

:worthless:

Sunset last night picture taken from behind the LBC.
The neighbors, visiting the trails for the first time from NY state, popped by to have a few drinks and a few laughs. Very cool guys (yes, those were the guys with the marshmellows, and they still have them :haha)

We woke to some nice fog this morning. The first pic is from in front of the LBC and the last two are the view from the cabins up the hill.

Hey, Diane, I think it is about time you pulled Mark out of those coveralls. I bet he is getting pretty smelly by now. He was wearing those things the last time I saw him. :puke:

Do we have a washing machine smiley :yikes:

IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Since the drive from the campground is so steep Mark decided it would be best if I drove the Mammoth pulling the trailer down and he drove the LBC without all that weight behind it.
That was fun for me and I got some pics but as usual they don't really show the incline of the road.
But in the first pic you can see the cabins at the top of the picture, that's where we were just a few turns earlier up the road.
Tinydog navigated

We're now at a campground in Union Grove, NC.
I tried to call ahead but no one answered and when we got here the office was open but there was a sign that they were out and just find a site :dunno: so we did.
Unfortunatly it doesn't appear they allow fires :camping: so we're just chillin in the LBC watching the history channel and eating greek chicken I had pre-cooked :yumyum:

So after looking at the pics I see you went to the New River.  One of the oldest rivers (on the planet or north America I don't remember which)  I have white water rafted on that river under the bridge many times.  Once a year they have bridge day and Base jumpers and bungee jumpers jump off of that bridge all day long.

 The second year we were going to Twin Hollow I had called a campground in the area of Beckley planning on stopping there before heading up into the hills (we would not do those roads at night with a trailer)
The guy at the campground asked if we were going to be jumping from the bridge? :ack: I was like WHAT??

Never heard of it before that moment.  :hahaha:

He said one year someone called up to make researvations at this campground and he said 'do you know there's going to be a bunch of idiot's jumping off that bridge?" And of course the caller was one of those idiots

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_River_Gorge_Bridge

The New River Gorge Bridge carries U.S. Highway 19 over the New River and the CSX railroad at a height of 876 feet (267 m), making it the highest vehicular bridge in the Americas, and the second-highest in the world. (Before the 2004 opening of the Millau Viaduct in France, it was the highest in the world.)

Maybe next time.  Let me know in advance when you guys are comming up this way again and I will try to hook up with you guys.  My brother was in from Ca and I have a sever lack of funds right now.  My brother wants to take his Rhino on the Rubicon next year so I might be flying out to Ca to do the Rubicon for the first time in my life.  Wish I could take my Toyota but it will not fit in the overhead.

send it out on the rail. I was reading in one of the 4wheel mags about a guy who did that and the truck got there 2 days before him , got stolen , so he decided to ride with a friend and as they were wheeling up the trail they found his rig rolled over along the side of the trail.
we're born,we roll over,we crawl,we walk,we run,we drive,we install cages,we wheel,we crawl,we roll over,the circle of life is complete.!

"we sleep peaceably in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to bring violence upon those who would do us harm" to you I say thank you
