Not hybrid like a Yaris but 22/20r I’ve been curious what ppl think af the motor I’ll be putting it in my 1982 truck I’ll be putting a 32/36 Weber so I’m wondering if I can run normal fuel or higher octane I’ve never built my own motor so any insights will be really appreciated all I have currently is a 83 block 82 head and crank and a dual timing chain set up the block is empty and the 20r head is all stock

.... I’ve never built my own motor so any insights will be really appreciated ....

The 22/20 hybrid is one of the most discussed topics, so you have access to hours of reading pleasure.

For the 1st time DIY rebuild, I’d offer my thread as one experience.

I’d suggest reading Toybrota’s thread (not a hybrid), and H8PVMT’s threads.

There are other many excellent posts and threads on the hybrid build.

Before you begin your project, I would highly recommend you consider calling Jim at 22RE Performance and asking his opinion on what you have and want you want to do.  He probably knows more about these engines than many self-identified “experts” and freely gives you his opinion.

Good luck!
