(Dr. Evil )  One hundred bazilion dollars  (end Dr. evil voice)

Only one I ever bough without the truck to go along with it cost me $200.

IF you can get one for 200 and it isnt bent then jump on it.  Ask trackvino about spending 250 on an axle only to realize after clearancing it for a hp elocker and grinding away all the unneeded stuff to find out it was just bent enought to cause problems.....that sucked

I got mine for $50.  This was just an in the right place at the right time deal though.  Anything thats two hundred something is a good price.  The least ive ever let one go for was $250.  Its not really a big deal if a 79-83 axle housing is bent, they are easy to straighten.  If you get an 84-85 thats bent the whole truss will have to be cut off before you can straighten it.

Mine runs now and the frame is good since it was patched with some thick 1/8" plating on all 4 sides on both frame rails.
It had everything attached to it when I got it. Here's the old pics when I found it at the junkyard:

who cares about the stupid gusset?  for $25 you can buy one and weld it on top where it won't get snagged on anything :slap:

Why would you pay the same for an axle w/o the gusset as you would for an axle with
the gusset  :screwy:
And then have to buy a gusset and weld it on :headscratch:
There is no way that an 83 axle w/o the gusset is as strong as an 85 axle with the gusset.
Just my  :twocents:

I get $200 for mine, with or without the gusset.  I used to think I needed to buy a newer one with the gusset till I saw em everywhere for around $25.

sold my 85 front end  with no steering for 200 bucks.   most complete front ends  go between 200 and 350  around here.  and the guesset  doesnt matter  in the price around here  either for some reason..

The aftermarket gussets that only go out as far as the spring pertch don't really solve the problem.  The 80-83 axles always bend right after the pertch.  Dont get me wrong I'm not saying 84-85 housings are bulletproof or even that I would pay more money for one.  All im saying is these trusses don't solve the main problem.  Build your own truss and support the housing where it counts (all the way across)

yep..    the stock guessets dont mean anything  since the majority bend out at the ball area.  see it all the time
