Been a long time since we talked Dennis. Are you back in Washington?

Bringing it back to life.

Both this thread and my 95 4Runner  1KZ-te

My 4r has set most of the last year due to radiator problems.
Finally bit the bullet, and picked up a Griffin radiator that fits well. It is a Side flow radiator and I'm getting a brace made for the radiator that runs from frame to frame.

Should I have the brace welded directly to each frame (rigid) or make it bolt to the frame?  Will it make any difference either way??
Thanks for your responses.

Factory mounts often include some sort of rubber isolators although Toyota didn't use them in the originals on the 4runners or trucks. Will probably be fine hard mounted to the chassis.

Thanks Nate.  My original thoughts were to use a piece of aluminum channel wide enough for the rad to sit down into and have the radiator sit on some rubber feet from an air compressor.  This guy  says he tried mounting his radiator in rubber when he did his LS swap.  He said it was so noisy
he took it back out and hard mounted it.  I'm not convinced yet to abandon the rubber vibration feet.
