Good info on the shifter seat. The rear end on my 90 4runner is basically a larger copy of this tercel rear. Always thought that was kind of amusing. The way the coils & 4 link is set up looks nearly identical.

I know. I think it's cool that the rear end is linked and on coils.

Today I removed the front fender that I had installed as a replacement to the damaged one. Once I got it off, cleaned up, scuffed and wiped down with mineral spirits I masked off the wheel arch trim and started to spray it with the 848 color spray paint I ordered. I used one can to put down two coats of base coat and one coat of clear. I was very impressed with results. For a rattle can it laid down almost as smooth and consistent as a spray gun. I bought the paint from automotivetouchup

I completely agree. I got a WARN 4000 lb. winch with synthetic line for it.

Most NAPA stores will color match paint into spray cans now.  I have used this with great success on my sons car and wifes van.  Just need the vin.

I heard about that after I had ordered from the online place. That will be nice in the future because I will need more for the hood and roof. And I would rather not have to pay for shipping.

Yesterday LittleSteve came over and helped me replace the rear wheel bearings on the rear axle. They were howling and overdue. It ended up taking longer than I was expecting but we got it done. We had a real laugh when we pulled the axle shafts out and saw how beefy they are.

I like where your head is at. Just remember they are made to bolt up to A series motor, so it won't bolt up to your R series motor. Also they are primarily front wheel drive and engage the rear axle when 4wd is engaged. You would have to retrofit most of the front suspension out of the Tercel also because they don't have a front driveshaft. The front axles come right out of the side of the transmission. If you bought a donor Tercel (easy to find find a donor worthy one for $500) you could make it work. The rear output shaft could easily be adapted to the rear axle in a pickup. Early Tercels (83' & 84') had a front differential ratio of 3.73:1 later models had  a 4.10:1 ratio. I would recommend getting a whole car anyways since you can offten get a drivable car for less than a transmission from the wreckers. I was quoted $1500 for a manual transmission at the local wrecking yard. I paid $600 for my car that only needed a clutch. Good luck and start a build thread if you move forward on this project.

Not sure I know the difference. They have a spherical seat on them, but I thought a corn nuts did too?

Where the lug nut contacts the wheel, an acorn is a straight edge and a ball seat is slightly rounded.  I only ask cause it's somewhat rare to have the plastic hubcap retainer on acorn lugs, but is very common on honda/acura lugs with ball seats.

If so, did you find a good deal on them?
Compared to the run-of-the-mill oreilly specials, how much brighter are these over stock?
