W56 and power steering in PDX area???
« on: Apr 16, 2016, 11:39:16 AM »
I know this is a long shot, but I have seen stranger thing happen!!

A buddy is looking for a trans and a complete power steering setup.  He is looking for a W56C, but anything that works, that will fit without any mods would be possible.  Needs to be in the Vancouver, WA/Portland/Salem, OR area.

did you end up finding a w56 tranny? I am also looking for a w56 forward shift tranny for my 1991 pickup... if you know of somebody selling one in the WA/OR area and you don't end up buying it, please let me know... I don't seem to have any luck in finding one! Cheers  :beerchug:

The only ones we have been able to find, is people thinking they have a W56 trans, which turns out to be R150's.  And newly rebuilt ones.  What is funny, the rebuild kits are as much as a rebuilt one from Marlin.

FYI

top shift w56 can be converted to a forward shift, and vise versa. Just swap the tail housing and shift leakage.

I have a W56C tranny and tcase (it is NOT an R150F, although I have one of those for sale also), and a complete power steering set up (IFS box not straight axle box), but I am in Northern Cal, Red Bluff area.  If you want to make a road trip, I'm right off the I-5. Email please, lamkinranch@gmail.com is best contact.

It's too bad you don't need a w56b with topshift. I have one near Eugene. And an IFS steering box.
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.
