Honestly if everyone else has dropped out I will probably not be going. I just went to Naches a couple weeks ago and I have precious little vacation time left.

When do you think you'll be making a final decision?  I know you have one or two of Chris's "crew" that are currently planning to head up with you on Thursday.  I have a reservation in Cliffdell on Friday night so I'll be in the area either way.

Hopefully, the rest will start confirming on this thread shortly!

I'm sure Chris and his crew will go regardless if I go. As you said they have planned on it for some time and haven't been up there yet this year. I have PMs out to everyone who said they were coming. Waiting to hear back. The only one who was planning on coming up with me on Thursday was Jesse. That is further reason why I may not go. It is too far of a drive for me to just make a day of it and there is no point in going for the long weekend if its only me and Jesse for Friday.

SqWADoosh [04:19 PM]: *sigh* I guess Chris is right and I just need to wait until I'm in a place where I have a tow rig and trailer before I get this caliber of truck
Mudder [08:28 PM]:   not try to be a jerk, but are you serious bestgen?
Prismo [06:11 PM]:   Done, time to relax or as Bestgen says....FREEDOM!
HogCanyonHopper [06:54 PM]:   I like my little rod. it gets the job done
H8PVMNT [03:30 PM]: I can go both ways.

Did pounder bail out also?

No, but he doesn't run anything but the rocks (Saturday) anymore.

Steve-44

I would really like to get back to Naches, and COULD physically make it to this event, but I mostly just prefer the rocks too.  My rig doesn't like sustained speeds over 15mph, nor does it ride well on bumpy roads as it sits.  Upcoming mods should remedy that, but I'm nowhere near ready to get that done in a few weeks.  HOPING to get some of it done and make it to the actual MCR15 in September.

Different subject, but anyone going to the WERock event in Goldendale August 6/7?

Hardcore, short-course, competition rock crawling.  Small event areas make spectating very good.  If you volunteer as a judge you stand IN the course during the runs, BUT you then can't see other courses being run.

You'll have to ask him.

I'll leave it up to him to post on this thread if he wants to coordinate.

When are you thinking that you'll make your final decision for going or not?  I know your leave is limited and I'm bummed that things have gone quiet on this thread.  I'm hopeful that you might hear back from a few more people over the weekend.

SqWADoosh,

Just wanted you to know that even though I can't make it out I sincerely appreciate the time and effort you put into this event.  In my younger years I was the guy who called everybody and put things together so I know all too well how much of your life you put into this stuff.  I appreciate you and want to encourage you to keep up the good work!

I also want to say that even if attendance is not what you were hoping you should go and do it all anyway.  Annual events are like snowballs.  If you can pull them off one year the next year attendance doubles, then the event get's famous and you end up having to limit numbers and pre-register.  We have seen this over the years with our events and others.

Keep on keepin' on brutha!

Hope everybody has an outstanding time :).

Appreciate it, brother. It boils down to the fact that I burned 6 out of my 10 vacation days on the Moab trip (of which it ended up getting cut short for us dirt campers). At my work when you are only a 4 year guy like myself you only get 10 days of vacation and then 5 of sick leave. I had to burn another day when my girl's car took a dump a few weeks back and I had to stay home and fix it so she wouldn't miss school and work. I then used another day on my June Naches trip. I don't re-up on vacation until April. That means I'm looking at 9 months with only 4 days of leave available to me. 3 if I go to Naches. I knew this when I planned the event and it would be worthwhile if the attendance was going to be better however as it stands now I would be going in on Thursday night with only one other guy. Wheeling Friday with only one other guy. It isn't worth me burning my precious remaining time for only me and another guy. Naches is a 4 hour drive from my house each way. So going on Saturday only is pretty much out of the question as well as I've done that before and it is not worth all that driving. It equates to being in my truck for 14-16 hours straight and is really hard on my body. Just want you guys to see where I'm coming from. I'm not trying to stamp my foot on the ground and say "no one is coming! So I'm not going!" as I fear some of you may think the case is. It is simply a pros and cons thing. With it being very con heavy right now.  :sad2:

I see what you mean on the vacation days.  You guys should get more vacation than that. I didn't think you were throwing a fit or anything I just wanted you to know you are awesome for putting the stuff together.

I get about three weeks a year and the same amount of sick leave, so 6 weeks a year altogether, it's pretty crazy.  It really helps offset the rather low pay. I will have burned almost all of that up after Kalispell though with my boy's stuff.  Nice thing is we just get a running balance per paycheck so in a few pay periods I will have a couple days vacation I can take whenever.

I used to be able to drive all night and wheel all day but now I'm too old and tired :).

If Andrew ends up not going,  :sad2:, then hopefully he can recommend an easy to find spot for everyone to meet up on Saturday AM since we will be coming from different starting points. We will also need to track down a map if possible. I have been on a lot of the trails at least once but have always been in blind follower mode. I can find the rocks for sure.
