Dual Cases information
« on: Jun 03, 2011, 04:45:08 PM »
I have been searching for information but not finding a single source, did I miss something?
What I have 84 xtra cab (had a) carbed 5spd.
From what I have read that I have G52 with forward shift t-case (in the truck).
2nd case is a top shift.
I tore down the 2nd (top shift case) to make the doubler.
About ready to pull the forward shift out of the truck.
Sounds like maybe I should have done the reverse?
Being fairly new to Toys (was a sami guy) I was under the impression the case in the truck was top vs forward.
Also I plan on running the triple stick set up........
So how far off base am I and what is the best way to get it done (with the least amount of mistakes)?
Is there a source that has all the information in one place (with enough detail, me being new to toyota's)

Thanks

I think i'm following your question:

You tear apart the forward shift t-case and only use the gear reduction box. From there the adapter, then the top shift t-case.

Here are the old MC directions.

I don't know how a tripple stick would change that though. sorry.
hope that helps.

you said ur t-case that is connected to the g52 is forward shift. so in order to do a dual tranfercase setup and keep it forward shift, your rear t-case is going to be top shift, while ur crawl box (which is between the t-case and tranny) will be forward shift.

I have been looking at the Pirate bible (it references the Marlin writeup). I you know of a post that I may have missed with the search let me know Thanks

That is what I was thinking

you said ur t-case that is connected to the g52 is forward shift. so in order to do a dual tranfercase setup and keep it forward shift, your rear t-case is going to be top shift, while ur crawl box (which is between the t-case and tranny) will be forward shift.

YES!  I was afraid of that, I guess it is live and learn. No way around it?

when you say tripple stick, are u talking about doing two crawl boxs and a t-case? or dual cases with twin
sticks?
Dual cases with triple stick (see the write up on pirates board). Moves up the (dual shifter for the rear case) up next to front shifter (on either side).

I think the "set up" he is reffering to is triple stick. Like the picture bigarms23 posted.

There is a few threads about it on pirate. It is the same thing as duals with twin stick, but there is links to move the twin stick shifters to the sides of the crawl box shifter.
