Dual Cases?

I have a 99 Tacoma V6 5-speed and was thinking crawler. Would taking 2 older t-cases and hooking them up be the best way or is there a way of keeping the drivers side drop without buying the $1500 crawler with money that I don't have right now? I like the idea of 2 older t-cases myself but was curious about other ways. Later
