SR5 tach info
« on: Dec 21, 2007, 01:08:44 AM »
I have an 89 4cyl truck with no tach. I found an SR5 4 cyl dash cluster. Is this a direct plug in other than changing the oil pressure sensor for the gauge? Anything extra I have to do? Please only post IF you have done this swap or know what needs to be done if anything.

Thanks

I did it in my old 86 runner....All I did was plug and play and yes make sure you switch the oil press sending unit.

My runner was not an sr5 either it was just a bone stock one and it all worked
RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!

I did the same thing on my 87 4Runner but the 89 truck dash cluster is different & I'm not sure if the 89 is pre-wired like the earlier years.

Everyone that I have worked on has been pre-wired but you have to check the pin-out if you are putting in a different year.
