straight axle conversion
« on: Mar 25, 2007, 08:53:19 PM »
I'm starting to gather up the parts to complete my straight axle conversion on my 95 4 runner.
I have bought an axle from a 85 truck.
In the tech notes ,for the install, Marlin says you can use a 3rd member from a v6 truck for added strength to the 85 axle.
Will the 3rd member from my 95 work? If it does I'll move it to the front with the lock right ,I already have , and buy a diff with a spool for the rear.
It might save me a little money and give me a stronger front axle.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated  :beerchug:

What type of springs are you running??? I was talking to my dad and he was telling me that everyone on the west coast is starting to run the 94-98 Chevy 1/2 ton springs because of how soft thet are... i can't wait to go home and see the yota's with this set up myself...
