1998 4runner straight axle conversion

We just bought this rig 3 weeks ago and my wife was on her way home and an old man hit her headon doing 40mph. The drivers side wheel was takin clear off and the insurance company totaled it. The repair estimate was $6500 and we have the option to by it back for $1200. the motor was untouched and the only body damage is a new front bumper, driver fender, inner wheel well, new front winshield and air bags. Is it worth it to by it back and do a front axle conversion and about how much $ am I talking?

buy it back you can do the sas for around 1500

Could buy it back and SAS it but its all dependant on how messed up the frame is.

Have the frame checked by a body shop before you buy it back if its buckled then ditch it

Not only that, but if the frame is only bent in the very front, hack it at the mm's and link it.  .02

True as well, if it's a 3.4 auto with reasonable miles, the engine, trans, and wiring harness are worth way more than that.
