toy axle mods
« on: Feb 26, 2007, 05:19:13 PM »
ive looked for a post on this but i cant seem to find one.  ive heard of guys putting d60 outers and 30 spline axles on a toy axle housing to make it a full floating rear.  has anyone done this?  what kind of modification to my axle will i have to make and how much wider will my axle be?

Have not hear anything about this, but that isn't saying much. I am sure it can be done.

The D60 30 spline is tight if I remmember right.

I am sure it is possible. A good friend of mine has a D60 rear housing with Tacoma brakes and shaft's. I do not believe is is FF though. If you search RockTaco on Pirate you might find something on it.

ive been looking at the front range kit but i would like to do it cheaper, as much as id like to spend the extra gnote burning a hole in my pocket, id like to keep costs down, does anybody know what the breaking strenght is on the stock toy rear axles and the cromoly ones?
