locking hubs

hey new to toyota  have a 91 runner  want to change over to locking hubs instead of auto will hubs from a 85 solid axle fit or do i need to buy new hubs
91 4 runner 4inch procomp lift 529 truetrac locker up front 35in 3 in body

:headscratch:  i know it can be done but i dont think the 85 hubs will work

Front Range makes a kit to swap manual hubs onto IFS auto's, its only a grand  :talkingn:

if you want to convert I know that Warn makes hubs that you can put on.  A guy I know put Warns on his rig when he got a runner with auto hubs. Go check out Warn and see what they have for you.

the solid axle hubs will not work.  the splines won't line up properly and you won't be able to disengage the hub.  assuming you '91 4runner is equipped with ADD you do not have auto hubs, you have drive flanges.  the same drive flanges that marlin sells here: http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/axles.htm
all you need to do is unbolt the drive flanges, pick up some IFS hubs, and bolt them on.
do yourself a favor and stay away from warn hubs.
