Electronic speedo adapter
« on: Apr 25, 2006, 11:24:36 AM »
Anyone hear of an adapter to go onto the cable driven output on a gear driven transfer case to an electronic speedometer. Doing a V8 swap in my 92 4Runner. Going from a chain drive transfer case to a gear driven out of an '88 but now have ran into the problem of how to get the stock speedo to work. Maybe ill just have to do some dash rippin and make an older dash or speedo work work in my Runner.

Because your 92 Runner had a G58 5 speed or an auto trans, it had a chain driven t/case that used a magnetic pulse sender that is about the size of a fifty cent coin.
4 cyl gear driven cases use a sender more the size of a quarter.

To make it simple, you need a magitic pulse sender from a 10/91 to 95 gear driven t/case found behind the W56 trans.

Yes, i make a cable adapter to reuse the original chain drive t/case sender, but perfer to do it proper with the 10/91 to 95 factory sender. We have this sender in stock.
The original wiring plug snaps in place and has the same 4 pluses.
i was sure this is what you were looking for,  if not call downeyoffroad
