Brake bleed issue.
« on: Sep 04, 2012, 03:15:00 PM »
I had a wheel cylinder go out last week. I put new cylinders in and bled all corners per the fsm.  The front wheels and drivers rear bled perfect, but the passenger rear has air coming out of it constantly. I have spent about 7 hours just on that wheel.  The lspv is bypassed so that is not an issue.  It seems like no matter what I do, there is still air in the lines. Any ideas?

If the master cylinder bled down to no fluid, it more than likely got air in master. Try bleading the master cylinder first and see what it does. I had the same issue on mine and 3 years of driving with a soft pedal later, I spent the to bless the master and all 4 corners one last time and it fixed it.

Sometimes air slips by the threads on the bleeder valve when it's cracked loose.

I wrap teflon tape around the threads of the bleeder valve to avoid that.

Plus the bleeder valve won't rust weld to the wheel cylinder when you do that.........

sounds like possibly a crack/loose line there some where... if it was a master i'd imagine it would be bleeding air to all the brake lines not just the passenger side. did you closely inspect the brake lines? make sure their's no cracks or kinks .

also do a gravity bleed if its to much of a pita getting the air out... that will ensure all air is out of the lines.

Is air actually coming out? I had a drain that was plugged and I couldn't tell so I spent a good amount of time saying what the f*** before I finally figured it out.

How do you have the LSPV bypassed?  Because I know that there is two lines that run back to it, and it is part of the bleeding process.  Do you still have the LSPV there part of the system, just tied up to the frame?  Because you still have to bleed it, even though its still there.

Just throwing out ideas...
